Bad news, I won't be able to make any fruit harvests from the Fortress's garden this week. There was an incident with the orchard.

[What the incident was? He's not going into detail. He ain't no snitch]

Ragna, you should be able to get fresh fruit from Kni's produce stand. Just tell them I sent you, I also got some presents that I've been meaning to deliver to them. They should give you a good price rate.

Sorry about this.

... PLEASE tell me the trees aren't attacking.

[Like. He wouldn't even be surprised if they were. James just really doesn't want to fight food.]

[personal profile] whiteshroud 2025-02-13 05:52 pm (UTC)(link)
[Jun will not treat this like the insane question this sounds like]

They're not attacking, they're just dead. I'll be sure to chop them up before they have a chance to become undead trees.
mstitel: (Shut up dork)

[personal profile] mstitel 2025-02-13 05:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Burn them, too. It's too early to deal with zombie trees.

[No matter what time it actually is, it's too damn early for zombie trees.]

Not sure I'd want to make a fire that large in the fortress. [We are living in a underwater tin can here.]

What about an exorcism? If we perform an exorcism on the wood, it should be safe to use, right?

[... well Ragna's kinda morbidly curious about what on God's Green Earth happened to that fucking orchard.

But there's something to complain about here rather than indulge that curiosity.]

Yeah, there's no way in hell I'm going there. If you need fruit I'll get it from somewhere else.
whiteshroud: (jun136)

[personal profile] whiteshroud 2025-02-13 06:09 pm (UTC)(link)
[He could question why Ragna doesn't want to go, but he's current in the middle of stuff so he's assuming it's Ragna just being Ragna]

But this time of year, they sell the best fruit for the best price.

Plus I need seeds from their fruit trees, or it's going to take LONGER than a week to replenish the orchard.
centralfiction: (36)

[personal profile] centralfiction 2025-02-13 06:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, and when I come around the little shit makes his prices so high Whole Foods would have a heart attack.

[keep having things on your plate, jun, it makes it easier for ragna to avoid the problems stacking on HIS plate.]
whiteshroud: (sigh)

[personal profile] whiteshroud 2025-02-13 06:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Then figure something out.

I got a bunch of trees I must chop up and exorcise before they rise as zombies.

[ Jun, being another scholar of the Sacred Texts, will understand what it means that Veldora's in full forehead-to-the-floor dogeza. ]

I AM TREMENDOUSLY SORRY I OVERESTIMATED MY POWER, SIR JUN!!

[ how was he supposed to know trees needed like, time and nutrients and stuff? ]
whiteshroud: (jun112)

[in person!]

[personal profile] whiteshroud 2025-02-13 06:11 pm (UTC)(link)
[Ah, he's doing a full dogeza. Jun will wave it off]

Ah, it's okay Veldora! Mishaps happen when you're learning a new ability- that's why we were doing this for practice.

We'll just clear out these trees and plant new ones, it's no big deal.
soulreleaser: (kiku 10)

[personal profile] soulreleaser 2025-02-13 06:48 pm (UTC)(link)
[ he'll sit up on his knees, still sulky and looking like a puppy that's piddled on a carpet--but at least he's not slammed face first to the floor, right?? ]

Well I thought--I thought once trees were big, they just. Were done? I don't know what happened or why they've rotted so...

[ but there's work to be done, and it'll be a cold day in hell before Veldora shirks something that was his fault--now that he's aware that he's supposed to fix problems he caused, with apologies to Luminous Valentine in another world and time.

he stands up, fists clenched at his sides as he steadies his shoulders. ]

Right! So should I break these trees with a blow, or burn them down with my fire?
whiteshroud: (umm)

[personal profile] whiteshroud 2025-02-13 07:16 pm (UTC)(link)
[Jun will reach down and pat Vel on the shoulder. It's okay man, it's just an accident]

It's alright. If I had to guess, the trees couldn't keep up with the growth acceleration. It's... like when Baruta ninja tries to use their final move when they're out of chakra. It'll trigger a negative recoil effect.

[Yeah. Something like that

But boy... he pauses. While burning them will take them out, it could also take out the whole garden with Vel's strength.]

Let's stick to breaking. Are you able to chop things into clean pieces?

[personal profile] whiteshroud 2025-02-13 06:42 pm (UTC)(link)
[Oh oops]

I'm fine! Someone was just practicing a spell and the output was stronger than anticipated.

But none of us are hurt. Just the fruit trees.
droptheious: (Or is it?)

[personal profile] droptheious 2025-02-13 06:54 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Oh thank god, he can release the breath he was holding. He knows Jun would shrug off a sword to he head, but at least he trusts him to be honest about it. ]

Okay. Okay, good. I mean... not for the trees, but... glad no one was hurt. Unfortunately, my earth abilities definitely don't extend to healing plants, otherwise I'd offer to help. Sorry though, I know your orchard means a lot to you.

[And, because he can guess good largely because he's paranoid about them: ]

Private

Is this something to do with the peach seeds?
whiteshroud: (considering)

[personal profile] whiteshroud 2025-02-13 07:19 pm (UTC)(link)
It's alright, they're beyond saving anyway. At least we can use the wood for stuff probably.

[Because after the cube of lumber, clearly what they need is MORE wood]

[PRIVATE]

Yeah. Veldora has an ability to accelerate plant growth, but it's a brand new power for him.

I offered the fruit trees for him to practice on and... well, it's a learning experience.

What the hell's up with the orchard? We can't exactly afford to be picky about what we eat.

Hopefully you can just get this thing over with and buy the fruits instead.

[personal profile] whiteshroud 2025-03-01 01:34 am (UTC)(link)
It died, essentially. I do have resources that'll help get a new orchard going in relatively short time, but it'll be about a week.

In the meantime, we're finding a workaround. No one's going to go hungry, I promise.
liberios: (52)

NO PROB!

[personal profile] liberios 2025-03-01 02:19 am (UTC)(link)
As long as we can get the orchard back to normal soon, that's all that matters.

We can still cook our meals. It shouldn't be too much of a problem.
