I definitely have acid. But it's also hard to test when we're not being actively attacked by a demon, it's true. And I don't think any of the demons on the app would be willing to try this on account of the fact it would probably kill them.

But you were right, it can always be like... a back-up plan? Like, when all else fails we'll just throw it at them and see what happens plan?

Based on what I've found, one of the local gods did something to rile up part of the demon population. So they're targeting that god and people associated with them, but they're not particularly organized or strong. Nor are they very smart, considering someone entirely unrelated got attacked too.

AKA... we should be on yellow alert and take more precautions, but it's not a full red alert.

Experimenting with the acid gun later is fine.
