I'm still exploring the full potential of the internet, myself, but I'm sure someone in the Fortress has enough experience with online communication methods to maintain that side of things.

Jun's really good at it, if nothing else. It still confuses me most of the time, honestly. Every time I think I have a grasp on it, some new weird thing shows up and I get lost all over again.

No. No I'm not. I don't even have active social media accounts!

Wait, you don't? But you're so good at memes and stuff. I don't think I could name a social media site outside of Libra. [And Gemini, he MOSTLY understands they are different things. In Varian's horribly Bad At This mind, Jun is miles ahead. ] Someone else then? Someone in the fortress has to have a good grasp on it, right?

Yeah. Having photos of me circulate online was too much of a risk with Krusnik looking for me. And while they're not really a threat anymore, aside from posting the occasional fanfic on AO3 under an alias, there's not much I'm interested in sharing with the world at large.

I know memes because I read stuff online, but that's hardly the same as running online communications for a business. That'd be like saying I could build a car because I read a couple books about it.

Maybe? Or someone extroverted enough to want to learn.

You know, that's a fair point. I didn't even think of that. That's a pretty damn good reason to avoid it. And yeah, I really don't understand why it's such a big deal for people? Like who needs their whole lives out there for people to see? No one wants to see a picture of your lunch, people!

That doesn't leave us with a lot of options. Amazingly, the people who actively choose to spend a lot of their time in an underwater fortress skew extremely introverted. Weird that. Wow.

Some people like to be seen. To leave something that they'll be remembered by. Living in shadow isn't for everyone. And I kinda like the food pics myself.

Okay, but not everyone is a genius like you.

Yeah, weird how that happens. Maybe March? She's pretty extroverted and has the kind of energy people like online.

I don't know, it feels there are better ways of doing that. Or, y'know, at least if you're doing a video make it interesting. Like Mark Rober! Or Adam Savage. [Of course he likes the guys that blow things up. Of course he does. ] You do?

Oh, that's true! She really does have the sort of energy that could get people on side. It's uh... infectious. Like pretty high level extrovert.

This world would be nothing but smoking craters if everyone did content like those two. [Which would be bad Varian. It'd be bad]I do! It allows me to broaden my horizons and learn more about cooking. There's some baking-based shows I bet you'd like. Ever seen the Great British Bake-Off?

Yeah! And I bet she'd enjoy to do it. Couldn't hurt to ask her next time we see her.

Oh, I don't think it would be THAT excessive. [Yes it would. They both know it would. ] ...Huh. Okay, that's a fair point. I never thought about it from that angle before. And now, I haven't? I'm... guessing it's about baking?

Sure! That's a good plan. She might even have some ideas to bring to the table that probably wouldn't occur to us. Extrovert ideas.

Yeah, a competition baking show. They bring a bunch of people into a tent and ask them to bake various challenges. And every week, whoever has the least successful results get sent home. It's very addictive, we should watch it together sometime.

No kidding? I do like the idea of a baking competition. That sounds like it can be fun. Sounds like it could result in a lot of disasters, there's so many ways things can go wrong in baking.

Okay, next date night, we can do that. I'll bring some snacks, and we can cuddle on the couch and watch it.

Oh, it definitely has plenty of disasters! Especially since they aren't baking in ideal conditions. Like when they do ice cream cakes on a hot day.

That sounds perfect! I'll supply the drinks.

WHY? You need time to bake- if you rush it, nothing will bake right. It's a SCIENCE.
